7 best farm stays with animals in Poland

Countryside holidays, just like grandma’s

One of the most searched phrases among families with kids right now? Farm stays with animals. In other words: where to go for a countryside holiday with animals. Preferably the kind you can hug or at least pet for a second. And if feeding them is an option? Even better. We just want you to know: this is our thing. And just so we’re clear — we’ll never send you to a mini zoo. Ever. But when it comes to ethical, educational places where animals and humans coexist with mutual respect? You can count on us. Here are a few of them.

Homey agritourism in the Bieszczady Mountains

Check and book on Slowhop

This place is so special that it almost doesn’t make sense for us to tell you about it, considering how hard it is to find an available date. But still, it’s worth a try. Off-season, you’ll get an overnight stay with breakfast, a ride in an off-road vehicle to the goat and sheep enclosures, and animal feeding. And in the summer, it’s all-out luxury: in addition to accommodation with meals (breakfast, a one-course dinner with dessert around 6 p.m., and a Saturday evening feast by the campfire with Bieszczady specialties), you’ll also get an off-road vehicle ride to the goat and sheep enclosures, animal feeding, ceramic workshops (Wednesday), paper flower workshops (Friday), and a meeting with a Bieszczady National Park guide (Monday). What do you think about that? Well, we’ll answer by saying that such wonders happen here, so go ahead and check out the calendar on Slowhop, but chances are it’s already too late, and you’ll have to book for next year. Or maybe for Easter.

'A very nice place, guests are treated warmly and family-wise, cute animals are happy to keep you company in the evenings, delicious home-made breakfasts. :)'.

Artistic agritourism near Swieradow Zdrój

See and book on Slowhop

A 300-year-old house – and that’s an important detail for those who aren’t fans of old buildings. This house creaks and has its share of retirement ailments, so if you’re not fond of that, you won’t be happy here. As for the rest: people say that Czerwony Dom is all about the food and the people. Add to that 3 hectares with a view of Stóg Izerski, all sorts of animals, and the colorful artistic Wolimierz. We highly recommend a visit.

Country holidays in Kashubia

Hop to Kashubia

Do you know why people love coming here so much? It's all about the atmosphere. The hosts know exactly how to make everyone feel at home. As for the breakfasts, all previous guests have said that Karolina should get a Michelin star. They’re just brilliant—oh wow, amazing, and all that!

'When I was choosing a place to stay, I didn’t really believe in all those 'magical places where you’ll rest like never before.' This was my first Slowhop experience, and I expected just a good agritourism spot. But from the very beginning, one surprise after another came. As for cleanliness, comfortable rooms, food, etc. – 10/10. But what makes Dwa Kasztany truly magical are the people. The owner and her mother. In a second, you feel like you're visiting long-lost family. Two incredibly wise women! You can talk to them about any life topic, and it’s an amazing conversation, full of understanding and wisdom. And if you need silence, there’s plenty of space for that too. It’s like being on vacation at your grandma’s in the countryside, with delicious mint tea and semolina porridge with strawberries for breakfast. I can fully confirm that this is a magical place because it will make you feel like a child again.'.

Paradise for children and adults

In Smoląg, near Ropuch and Płaczewo, close to Rzeżęcin and Gąsiorki. Along the way, challenge the kids to remember this sentence, and you won’t hear ‘Are we there yet?’. The situation is that here you’ll find lovely hosts who’ve created a place with delicious local food, and for guests, they offer a 100-year-old wooden cottage for smaller groups and a brand-new apartment above the barn for bigger ones. Plus a hot tub, sauna, horses, rabbits, chickens, and the hosts' friendly dogs

'A wonderful place, full of magical corners where everyone – both young and old – can find their own spot. Karolina is such a lovely person, very helpful. I also can’t forget to mention the fantastic breakfasts. Prepared like for a royal couple, yet so homely and delicious! Highly recommended!'.

Oh lord, this is it! This place is on Slowhop right away and it is a model from Sevres near Paris of what rural education for children should look like. The hosts know how to do it, they have experience in hosting families with children like Bill Gates in software. In a word - go there, you won’t be disappointed. Check the reviews on Slowhop – they can only be written by guests who actually made a reservation and stayed. No fake stuff.

'Thank you very much for your hospitality! It was wonderful! I only regret that I didn't know earlier that there was SUCH agritourism a stone's throw from Wrocław. Children are delighted with living on a farm, where there are all farm animals (except turkeys), available at any time and willing to contact. Seriously, how do you make them still want to play with the children with such a turnover of guests? Do you have a psychotherapist for goats and chickens? Later, when I was telling my friend about my experience at the playground, the lady who was eavesdropping on us asked me to find the website of this cool place on her cell phone, because she also wanted to go there.'.

“Happiness isn’t happiness without a goat playing along,” Marc Chagall used to say, and that’s the inspiration behind the Goat Attic bedroom. The famous painter was known for including musical goats in his paintings. That’s exactly what the hosts of Kozłonogi were inspired by. Simple, right? Here, you’ll find 100 famous goats, known for what Joanna, the host, does with them.
