Don’t pretend you don’t love a happy ending.
We’ve got Hosts who are so good at this eco thing, they could be handing out certificates instead of collecting them. They’re planet-loving pros who:
Some of them took on our 250-question Responsible Travel Program. Some even did it TWICE—because instead of basking in their eco-glory, they wanted to see what more they could do to make things better around them. Then they got off the couch… AND DID IT. The result? They seriously blew us away.
Why?
Because in just one year, they’ve made so much progress, we had to hand them the mic. At a time when the world keeps asking “To have or to be?”, and conspiracy theories outpace climate facts (Thanks, Donald!), these folks just keep doing their thing. Boldly. Brilliantly. Without fuss.
Drumroll, applause, hats off – meet the Slowhop Host Eco League 2024!
Eco efforts of our Hosts are supported by: Drogeria Ekologiczna Betterland, Mydlarnia Cztery Szpaki, Woskowijki by Malu.
Here comes a duo that takes no prisoners. One from Lubuskie, the other from Mazovia, and while they’re miles apart, one thing unites them: in the last year, their eco-efforts picked up speed like a runaway avalanche.
All we could do? Slap a shiny badge on their CVs: “Awarded by Slowhop for Environmental Efforts” – a title reserved for our elite league of sustainability-savvy Hosts.
Jola and Dominik are the quiet types. The behind-the-scenes heroes. The kind of Hosts who don’t shout about their work on social media—but if you visit Osiedlisko, you’ll see it for yourself: “eco” here isn’t a branding strategy. It’s a personal mission.Think low-key legends, not marketing machines.
Hop over to Osiedlisko!Extra gold star: they aced our trash experiment. Maximum respect!
We’ll admit it—we had high hopes for this place from the start. The moment the Hosts reached out, they were already vibing hard with the idea of regenerative tourism.
This isn’t about planting a single nettle and posting a selfie with #eco. This is serious. This is tourism that gives more than it takes. That leaves behind clean trails, good energy, and a tiny bit of hope.
Kam and Mac took on this complex, slippery, should-be-government-backed journey anyway. Want to know what they’re actually doing? Go read their profile report.
Extra gold star: Big brains, big hearts, and even bigger moves — they're not just riding the wave, they're making it. Certified drivers of good change. Slay!
We all know that one person with a chronic case of excuse-itis. You know the type: eyes on the floor, muttering something about “Mercury retrograde messing with their aura.”
But instead of excuses like “I started the certification, but my goat ate my notes...”, we’ve got Hosts who treated eco with the seriousness it deserves.A year after certification, they sat down, took a hard look at their progress, and went full throttle again. And for that—they get a standing ovation.
Asia and Wojtek went back through nearly 250 (!) questions, updated every answer, and added even more eco and community-focused action. Asia also happens to sit on the board of the local Rural Women’s Circle—and has already stirred up a ton of good promoting the culture of Zełwągi and its scenic gems. They nailed 3 out of 5 eco-goals for 2024, swapped the other two for even better ideas, and most importantly—kept their resource usage impressively low.
Hop over to Chrosiówka!Bonus points: village cleanup campaign!
An idea from Asia last year, it returned in 2025 with a bang and looks set to become a local tradition. Hosts from the Slowhop universe nearby joined in: Siedlisko na Wygonie, Apartament w Starym Domu, and Przechowalnia Marzeń from Mikołajki.
This, folks, is how you build a strong community and regenerative practice. We bow with admiration—fringe sweeping the floor!
Now this is what real eco education looks like. Ever since Agnieszka and Michael launched their drink-from-the-tap initiative (rewarded with a swanky reusable water bottle), guests have been ditching plastic faster than New Year’s resolutions.
Changing the world, but making it classy? Possible, as you can see!
They also encourage guests to support local producers—think cider, honey, eggs, and cheese from Jersey cows. If you show up hungry, you’ll leave well-fed and full of regional goodness.
BONUS: They’ve perfected their own eco dish soap formula. Yes, really. All-natural and ready to test on-site!
Also in the works: an eco travel guide filled with insider tips on where to go, when, and why it matters. We’re already refreshing the page for the release.
Ewa and Piotr are the kind of Hosts who’d rather set an example than chase likes. Forget matcha selfies in the woods—it’s sleeves up and eco mode: ON.And the result? In 2024, they hit 100% of their goals. Yes. All of them. Then, like a weekend crossword, they breezed through our entire Responsible Travel Program checklist—meticulously.
Hop over to Chromcówka!Extra golden star: and just when we thought we’d caught our breath… they went and set new, even bolder goals for the year ahead. Curious? Sneak a peek at their profile.
Applause for determination tougher than granite!
Let’s be real—staying green is tough when half the internet is screaming clickbait and half-truths just to snatch our attention. But with these Hosts? We grab the popcorn and settle in like it’s a binge-worthy series. Their eco-upgrades stretch across longitudes, and their ambition could power a small town.
Meet four places that made a massive leap this year in doing good—for nature, for people, for the planet.
Marika, Tomek, and the Not-A-Cat Cat—this trio is picking up eco-speed faster than a grandma hearing she's about to become one.
From ethical wildlife watching and carefully selected, guest-friendly cosmetics to sharing tourism benefits with locals, their list of good deeds is longer than a holiday shopping list.
And hey, they were even featured in Smoglab as a model example of eco-accommodation. Respect!
Bonus stars for sharing photo diaries of their forest neighbors—shared on their channels. Go check it out yourselves!
Agnieszka and Bartek are basically the Olympic athletes of eco-living. If there were green games, they’d be snatching gold.
Experts in eco-building and techy solutions, they went one step further and assembled a family task force, ran a full eco-audit, and rolled out a new wave of improvements. Some are already done, others are still cooking—like their hydrogen energy storage system-in-progress (!).
Are we shedding tears of emotions? Yeah.
Extra golden star: yeap, Smoglab featured them too as an exemplary eco Host!
Circularity? Upcycling? Zorica’s practically their poster child. When she decided to revive her grandfather’s house, she became a full second-hand queen. Most of the furnishings have lived a past life—and if you doubt it, ask the local upholsterer who might as well name his workshop after her.
And the best part? Zorica won’t make a single change without thinking how it’ll impact the environment. That’s the kind and thoughtful spirit the world seriously needs.
Extra credit: she added 17 new eco-actions just during last year’s recertification!
Małgosia and Marcin are walking the talk of “local and responsible.” Their energy-efficient home was designed by a Warmian architect, and they collaborate with local makers like it’s their full-time job.
Sip honey from Lot Trzmiela or tea from Eulalia, admire AniaRyska’s ceramics, and try out Bosqie’s natural skincare. It's all about Mazurian spirit.
Even their thermal mugs are on standby so guests can grab local coffee for a forest stroll. And Małgosia’s now working with the Great Masurian Lakes Foundation to take things even bigger.
This is how you eco like a pro!
How do stars become legends? They shine, sure—but then they stay bright, keep showing up, and quietly do the work that doesn’t make it to Instagram.
That’s exactly what these Hosts do. Day after day, they prove that staying excellent and eco-conscious is not a trend—it’s a lifestyle. And we’re here to throw confetti at their consistency.
Some things are just reliable: gravity works, the sun rises, Victoria and David Beckham are still smitten, and Ela and David keep raising the bar for hospitality.
You won’t find flashy selfies here—but you will find people who relocate bat families, pamper chickens, and pay more for local, eco-friendly harvests just to support their neighbours. That’s the Legros way: kind-hearted, authentic, and rarer than a Brocken Spectre in the clouds during a flight.
Extra star in the journal: since last year, guests have been getting their hands on awesome soap from Feminoteka.
One – it’s got a natural formula and eco-friendly packaging, so nature’s loving it.
Two – buying it supports a foundation that helps women facing violence (plus, it raises awareness), so it’s a win for the community.
Three – guests get a nifty aluminum case to take it home and use it to the last bubble instead of tossing it – talk about circularity!
That’s how you play eco bingo!
Think of Dom Artysty as our Slowhop Prometheus. The Benevolens Foundation is behind so many social and eco-actions, we’d have an easier time counting leaves in Wrocław’s Southern Park.
Even after dealing with the aftermath of last year’s flood, they found time to re-certify and keep pushing for environmental change.
Their stock on the green market? Rising fast. But don’t take our word for it—go visit and see the magic for yourself.
Extra gold star: there's an air quality monitor on-site.
There are literary classics, film classics… and then there’s Agata and Tomek, showing that ecology isn’t a trend, it’s a lifelong mission.
Planet-friendly cooking, circular economy, conscious consumption, biodiversity—you name it, they’re doing it. They also support local artists and businesses, and their eco chats with guests are so natural, you’ll be reading into “biodiversity” before dessert.
Oh, and their library’s loaded with green reads for kids and grownups alike. Eco-awareness: officially unlocked.
Extra gold star: if any eco-topic catches your eye, there’s a whole shelf of books waiting at the house — for little and big humans alike. Perfect for stretching your eco-awareness and tuning into the Kind Travel frequency.
Make room—these newcomers burst onto the eco scene like breakout bands at a summer music fest. They joined the program this year and blew. us. away.
Your jaw? Might wanna grab a pillow for it.
Krysia and Kaj entered the Responsible Travel Program like it was Oscar night—with a bang. They clocked in 161 eco-actions on their very first try—the most in the program's history!
We don’t usually geek out over spreadsheets, but this one had even the tables doing a Mexican wave in Excel.
They’re deeply into regenerative tourism, allergic to greenwashing, and we’re watching their every move with heart-eyes.
Extra gold star: Kaj built a real-deal walipini (yep, that’s a sunken greenhouse!) and keeps you fed with fresh homegrown goodies all season long.
Meanwhile, Krysia is a grandmaster of creating natural cosmetics — packed with rich ingredients and real results.
Ewa and Marcin’s impact list is bursting at the seams. From forest school for kids to guided tours of eco-crops, their education game is top-tier.
Culture-wise, they’re the brains behind the “Na Serio” Cheesemaking Festival, host jazz under the stars, and elevate natural cider like it’s modern art.
Social impact? Off the charts. They hire locals, coach them on working with tourists, and champion the community every step of the way. This isn’t just hospitality—it’s a whole regenerative movement.
Extra gold star: when it comes to community action, these Hosts don’t hit the brakes — they support local businesses, hire locals, share knowledge, and help them tune into what travelers love, so their ventures can truly thrive.
Our grand finale is served by Marta and Kuba, whose eco-commitment is bigger than ancient ferns from the Carboniferous era.
Not only do they forage for mushrooms—they also pick up trash in the woods, clearing out hundreds of kilos of waste since moving in. And they’re not stopping anytime soon.
Their homes? Natural building masterpieces: strawbale, clay, wood, Kaszubian shingles—all blended into the landscape by eco-craft masters Cohabitat Foundation. You can even watch the build—it’s worth it!
Extra gold star: add solar panels that power both the houses and their electric cars, and yeah—that’s how you drop the mic.
