We're completely fascinated. By the Poznań dialect, which brought us a fair share of laughs while writing this, and by the beautiful places to stay – all reachable by car from Poznań in under 2 hours. If, like us, you've been giving this beautiful region far less attention than it deserves – because your mind was on the Tatras, Masuria, the Baltic, or somewhere near Kraków – then seriously, this article is for you. We're about to show you some places around Poznań that will knock your socks off. And you know what? There are zero crowds. Which makes them absolutely perfect for a slow holiday. Prepare to be surprised. Let's go!

We'll be bold and say it straight: "Every pyra [a term for Poznań locals – literally 'potato' in the Poznań dialect] deserves a holiday with a view." And this place has views and style in abundance. Just look at that glass-panelled dining room on the patio! Or the terrace that feels like a lazy afternoon in Andalusia. The surroundings are lush and green, keeping you cool in summer and out of sight of curious eyes. You'll be sleeping in a lovingly renovated villa (for 5–6 adults or seven with children), full of design touches and Mediterranean accents. The kitchen is not only fully equipped – it practically begs you to cook something spectacular. The lake is about a kilometre away, and the little ones [bąbasy] have their own bedroom with a play corner and a toy kitchen. Bring your dog [kejter] or cat [kociamber] too – everyone's welcome. We have a feeling you'll feel right at home here from the very first moment.
'We were absolutely blown away. A home with soul, which – just 20 minutes from Poznań – transported us straight to Andalusia. Fully equipped and beautifully prepared by the hosts. We had a wonderful time with friends and will remember it for a long time. I wholeheartedly recommend it!'.

How about a lazy wander through the meadows? Watch the cows, count cumulus clouds, and see the world from the perspective of a ladybird? Around these four stilt cabins – which sleep up to 4–6 people – there's so much space you could fly a kite. Nearly 100 hectares of farmland with three fishing ponds (fishermen, dust off your gear), lush greenery, and a herd of 200 Highland cattle – perfect for contemplation and switching to a life with zero distractions. The private terraces help too: exactly the kind of place where you sit down with your favourite drink, stretch your legs and say: "Well, this is exactly what I needed." You can order breakfast in baskets delivered straight to your door, and enjoy lunch at the manor house – just a few minutes' walk along the causeway between the ponds. And don't forget the SPA zone with three types of saunas, a hot tub, a bathing pond, and massage options. Bring the kids [bąbasy] and small or medium-sized dogs [kejtry].
'A wonderful place. The cabin has a fully equipped kitchen, but instead of cooking, I'd highly recommend taking advantage of the breakfast basket delivery and the dinner at the manor – the food is delicious. We didn't have time to see everything on the estate and would love to return to do just that. We came with 2 children aged 6 and 8, who had no time to be bored. Highly recommended!'.

Friends, let your hair down, kick off your shoes, and take a deep breath – because we're announcing a full-on relaxation spectacular. There's no pressure here except the water pressure, but there are open-air breakfasts, evenings by the fire, and a vibe so good you'll start googling what land costs in the area. This is an exclusive-use house for 10–12 people. You can come with kids (who'll love the amazing playground, a group of friends, or the whole family – including the aunt who loves (or will come to love) billiards. Yes, it's here! Along with PS5 and other entertainment. You can head to the garden with its jacuzzi and sauna straight from bed, towel over your shoulder, completely free from city-traffic stress. There's also a covered area with a BBQ nearby. It's officially time to lie back and do absolutely nothing!
'An absolutely wonderful place, perfect for a hen party and much more! The staff are lovely and easy to reach, making the whole stay feel magical. The house is spacious, beautifully decorated, and fully equipped – total comfort guaranteed. The garden is a real gem – well-maintained, with plenty of space to relax and have fun. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique place to unwind or host a special event!'.

Instead of sweating on a tram in the city, why not swing in a hammock under the trees? Like the one at this charming forest keeper's cottage, tucked into the heart of the lush Grodzisk forests. It has everything you need for a proper rest: birdsong, abundant nature (and not just any old greenery), and three lakes – one just a short walk away. Sounds good? Well, listen on: your stay includes a hot tub and an outdoor breakfast terrace, and the cosy interior of this former forester's lodge sleeps up to 6 people. There are also two tiled stoves. This is a rental paradise for those who want to celebrate life's simple pleasures. Come on over. Oh, and bring your dogs [kejtry]!
'(...) this is a place for people who love to rest far from the crowds, the scary supermarket receipts, and tourist-trap attractions. The house is located deep in the forest, reached by an unpaved track. It sits on a large, fenced, and well-kept plot. The house itself is well-equipped, cared for, and there's no skimping on guest comfort. Beds are comfortable, the linen is warm and good quality, and the towels are better than a Sheraton's. The kitchen is well equipped; just note that the induction hob has two rings, so if you're a serious cook, factor that in. For those who'd rather not cook, Stawy Kulesza and the Bar Szuwar pub are a 25-minute walk away, serving genuinely fresh and delicious fish with a cold beer. On-site, guests have a campfire (with a grill grate), hot tub, a terrace with a large table, and a big area for badminton or ring toss. There's also a small library stocked with light reads – perfect for a moment of relaxation. Bathrooms are new, and showers are spacious.'.

You don't have to travel far to properly unwind. Just 1.5 hours from the centre of Poznań, near Sierakowski Landscape Park, you'll land right here – a hideaway from the relentless pace of modern life. On a plot shared with a few other cabins, yours is for exclusive use, and the views will genuinely make your jaw drop. This is the perfect address for a romantic couple's retreat – the kind of place where, years from now, someone might say: "This, my dear children, is where Mum said the most beautiful YES to Dad." The interiors are just right for both feasting your eyes on beauty and sinking into blissful rest, far from the constant demands of everyday life. You'll be welcomed with a basket of local treats, and the sauna is included in your stay. Want to splash a bit extra? You can also jump into the outdoor hot tub. Small or medium dogs are welcome too. Come in, stretch out, and enjoy a proper break from the world.
'Skrytka is a wonderful place: intimate, romantic, simply beautiful. Bathing in the hot tub under the moon and a sky full of stars was something truly extraordinary. In the morning, deer came to visit. The sauna and fireplace are incredible. The most atmospheric and relaxing place we've ever stayed. We will definitely return.'.

The plan: flop down and have absolutely nothing to do. Coffee with a glazed sweet roll [szneka z glancem – a Poznań speciality], forest outside the window – and the holiday vibe is already real. And what if you could enjoy that forest from a floating house? You can here. There are two such houses, connected by a footbridge, rented out to one group – for example your crew of up to 8 people. Kids 8+ are welcome, and definitely bring your dogs [kejtry in Poznań dialect] or cats [kociambry]. No need to worry about seasickness or beach towel territory wars – instead, soothing stillness, no neighbours, and lush greenery in abundance. As well as rooftop terraces, glass-panelled living rooms, hammocks, sun loungers, and a jetty table for al fresco meals. Pack your bags, get in the car [fura], and head for the jetty in the forest!
'Staying in the floating houses was absolutely magical! The views were stunning. The peace and quiet there allowed us to truly switch off and relax, far from the noise of everyday life. The hosts were wonderful and very helpful – everything went without a hitch. This is the perfect place to rest in close contact with nature. We will definitely return!'.

Treat yourself [hejbnijcie się in Poznań dialect] to something nice and head to the water. Like this family villa, nestled right on the crystal-clear shores of Lake Powidzkie. It's just a 2-minute walk to the waterfront, where you can jump straight in or warm up on the jetty first. Pets will love it here too – the grounds are fenced in, and the place is ideal for two families with children or a group of friends wanting to holiday together. The kids [bąbasy] (and probably the adults too) will have a blast with the foosball table and darts. Bonus? Sauna and a hydro-massage tub are included in your stay. As is a top-notch cinema room for a film marathon with your favourite movies, accompanied by popcorn. Does that not sound like pure paradise? Let's go [dawajta] – the cabins are waiting!

Bunk off [blałka = playing truant in Poznań dialect] from the tech fever and go offline. For example: try glamping with unlimited access to nature and all the comforts of modern life. Here you'll find two well-furnished cabins and a stylish [fifny] tent, plus a sauna and a hot tub that'll fast-track you to total relaxation (for an extra fee [bejmy]). Kids stay home – this one's for the adults. You can lose yourself in long-neglected books, have a giggle [giglać] with someone you love, or just swing in the hammock till evening. After all the hard work you've put in over the past few months, it's time for a reward in the form of an endorphin rush and some beautiful experiences. Switch to aeroplane mode and check in.
'A wonderful place to relax surrounded by nature, in peace, and far from the internet or TV. Time slows down here, and your mind gets a real rest. We stayed in the Ogień cabin – small but cosily furnished, with large windows looking out onto the forest. The cabin has everything you need for a comfortable stay of a few days. The bathroom has a small set of toiletries, the kitchen area has basic spices, olive oil, coffee, and tea. There's also a record player, a typewriter, and a telescope available. On the Offline grounds there are several hammocks, a campfire area, and an extra-charge sauna, hot tub, and heated tub. The owner is a wonderfully lovely person, and her little dog Koka is the perfect relaxation companion. (...)'.

If you feel like your brain has hit a wall, don't carry [taśtajcie in Poznań dialect] your worries with you – just escape [fyrajcie] into nature. Leave the suits [ancugi] and fancy [fifną] clothes for Oscar night (or the office), and here it's all about elasticated-waist trousers and heading out – far away from the city and the crowds [wuchta wiary]. The wooden house sleeps up to 6, and the kids [bąbasy] will love sleeping in the mezzanine. You can lie around with a book on the terrace, head to the hammock grove in the shade of the trees, jump on a bike [kwika] – bring your own – and cycle 5 km to the lake. Sound like a plan? Let's go [dawajta] – hop into laid-back bliss.
'An exceptional place where you can rest and soak in the views. The cabin is beautifully furnished and has everything you need. Being there, I had the feeling that the owners decorated it as if it were their own home, finishing it carefully and with attention to every detail. A very thoughtful and spacious space. Everyone was delighted with the stay. We will definitely return!'.

Want to head somewhere into the forest? Here you go: a brda-style cabin for 2–4 people, nestled in the greenery of the Noteć Forest. There are other rental cabins on the plot, but don't worry – privacy is well taken care of. Everything here is so cleverly arranged that the only neighbours you'll run into are the occasional hare [hazaj in Poznań dialect] darting through the bushes [kierze]. Small dogs and kids (big and small) are welcome, but if you can, leave any grumps [brękoty] at home and arrive only with stress-free company. And don't forget to pack your swimming trunks [badejki] – the hot tub in the forest (extra charge) is waiting to melt away your tensions. A campfire on the terrace and stargazing will switch your brain into a pre-internet mode. Try it.
'Szałasówka is even more beautiful than the photos show. Perfected in every detail. Ideal for a couple who want to escape the urban hustle. The potential of the space is brilliantly realized in every way. I wholeheartedly recommend it!'.
