In the 1960s, California vineyard workers filled wooden barrels with water and tested different ways to heat them over fire. Basically they were experimenting with barrels that had once held various spirits to see which smoked best;) In a nutshell, the first whirlpool tub in North America was born in those vineyards. But in truth, today’s tubs wouldn’t exist without the Japanese onsen and wooden ofuro culture, brought home by American soldiers after World War II. These days, the hero is the garden barrel—or hot tub. Once a luxury for a few, it’s now almost a must-have for every autumn—and winter—escape. Or any season, really, since a hot tub works in all weather. Slowhop bookings show you love tubs with a view: in the mountains, deep in forests, or right by a lake. You enjoy soaking while snow falls, under stars at night. You like group dips—and especially tubs with wine glass holders, because those holders melt the heart of every adult vacationer, along with what’s in the glass. Here are 10 of the best hot tubs on Slowhop in Poland, perfect for chasing away the blues, warming cold feet, clearing an overstimulated mind, or escaping autumn and winter. Dive in.

We’re kicking off with a bang. We featured this cabin recently in our Gorce and Pieniny roundup. Let’s not kid ourselves—it’s hard to beat these views. Plus, you can get up close and personal with nature in the hot tub without worrying about neighbors calling the cops. They won’t—because there aren’t any. We especially recommend napping in the hammock; the forest here is such natural aromatherapy that you might hibernate until spring.

The whole cabin is yours. Bring up to five guests, order a breakfast basket, and forget the rest of the world.

Symsarny Valley joined Slowhop not long ago and already has fans singing its praises. We think it’s thanks to the lakeside tub, the open-air barrel, and a terrace bigger than the average city flat. Hosts Agnieszka and Michał clearly don’t do things by halves. The lake is almost at your doorstep, and there are kayaks, buckets, rakes, a paddle boat—and even a motorboat on request. The hosts are close by, so if you ask nicely, they might treat you to homemade bread, house-cured meats, or pickled fish straight from Lake Luterskie.
Slowhop says:
The entire house is yours. It’s a hedonist’s dream with both a hot tub and a jacuzzi on site. Bring up to eight guests—and your dog.
'If there’s heaven anywhere, it’s here. Symsarny Valley feels like paradise on earth. The house is tastefully designed and fully equipped—two bathrooms, comfy beds, a living room fireplace, a swing, and a bathtub overlooking the lake. The kitchen has everything you need and the Wi-Fi is excellent (you can work without a worry). But the best part is outside: a huge terrace, private pier, enclosed grounds, and a hot tub right by the water. The warm welcome from the hosts—homemade bread, tasty jams, and pickled fish—made us feel at home. We stayed briefly but rested like never before. This special place is worth every penny, and we can’t wait to return.'

The older sibling of Buczynowy, where it all began. If you’ve seen epic shots of a tub with mountain views, this is likely the spot. We featured it in our Gorce and Pieniny round-up, but omitting it here would be a miss. That terrace tub, complete with wine glass holders, blew us away. We never knew how much pleasure a 38°C barrel, mulled wine, and a starry sky can bring.
In Górski Azyl, coffee is sipped from hand-painted pottery, breakfast is served at a big communal table, and the hosts are absolute stars.
“We just returned from a week’s stay and already miss it: the view, the beautiful interior, the terrace tub. Everything was perfect and even better than the photos. You don’t want to leave. Easy access to trails, shops, lakes, and rivers—nothing else is needed for happiness here. The owners are so friendly—we can’t wait for our next visit in January!”
Slowhop says:
The whole cabin is all yours for up to eight guests, six of whom can fit comfortably in the tub at once. Górski Azyl's fame has spread far and wide, so if you want that terrace tub, book early. And if you love mountain cheeses or smoked oscypki, ask Ania and Konrad—they’ll have you covered :)

We love following Kamil, who after years in the city and blogging about fashion, moved to the Biebrza region, set up a container home, and embraced hosting. Why we also love Into the LAS? Because of the eco-friendly cabins, stunning design, and the Biebrza mists—especially magical when viewed from the hydro-massage hot tub surrounded by meadows on one side and pine forest on the other. There’s also Mrs. Beatka from Sojczynka, who prepares on-demand meals.

A wonderful spot for a romantic getaway for two—anniversaries and even proposals have happened here, which says it all. On arrival, you get a breakfast basket and a bottle of wine. No pets, please.
'Beautiful place at the end of the world. At least that’s the impression you get reaching it via back roads and forest tracks. Seclusion is one of the biggest perks—there are only two cabins, so you can really escape the hustle. The surroundings are stunning; outside your windows you see forest and atmospheric misty fields. If you’re looking to disconnect from civilization, slow down, and enjoy a romantic trip for two, this is it. That mood comes naturally—Finnish tub, wine, silence, and each other. Plus, be sure to order meals from Hostess Beatka. You’ll get a break from cooking and delicious homemade food delivered to your door. Definitely ask for her breakfast pancakes—they’re the best we’ve ever had.'

This is the Kashubian version of a hot tub—you wake up, three minutes later you’re diving in, and someone might hand you “coffee” through the kitchen window. It’s set in the heart of Kashubian Landscape Park, right by Lake Kamionka. There are two cabins, each with its own snug tub, and in the middle a shared sauna where you can steam away your worries, then, if you dare, rinse off under the open-air shower. Kids love it—they can build a fort in the loft, burn off energy in the greenery, splash in the lake, and collapse at dusk with board games. Parents, meanwhile, can bliss out listening to charming tub-side snores—it’s all yours after dark.
Slowhop says:
On arrival, the hosts greet you with genuine Kashubian bread — gluten and all—a tasty intro to what’s next. Be sure to visit the village of Węsiory to see the mysterious stone circles, and don’t miss Łapalice Castle, an impressive ruin built by an unrepentant dreamer who got permission for a house and sculpting studio but went big.
'We were delighted. The drive through forests to Stare Czaple—a charming spot on hills between lakes—was lovely. Blue cabins on a hill, just 50m from the lake and endless woods. First impression: fireplace, sauna, hot tub, and fresh bread waiting on the kitchen counter, plus robes for the sauna. Everything is beautifully done, with lovely bedrooms (only one is closed off; the others are 'open plan' separated by partition walls). We came with seven adults and it fit us perfectly.'

A sweet treat for Warsaw residents. Just an hour from the capital, you’ll find a village—no ordinary yurts, but an entire Yurt Village—plus an eco-pool, permaculture garden, spa with sauna and tub, and next door, Turkolandia. There’s too much to list. If you’ve never slept in a yurt, you’ve got some catching up to do. Here you can float in a splash pool, warm up in an herbal sauna, pick veggies straight from the garden, nap in an above-ground tent, hit the rope park “because the kids wanted to,” then make a gentle bomb into the tub.
Slowhop says:
A perfect spot for kids and active parents. Next to Turkolandia—the forest playground with rope park, educational trail, levitating tent, trampoline, and volleyball court. On request, the hosts can arrange a horse with assistance. Eco breakfast basket included!
'A brilliant spot for a family break (or without kids ;)) so close to Warsaw. On-site there’s a fire pit, grill, educational nature path, playground, rope park, and plenty of space to run. Plenty to keep kids busy; once they’re asleep, parents can enjoy the sauna and a Russian bath, even on cold November evenings. Nearby are an agritourism farm and a stable offering horse rides—an extra plus. The yurts themselves are cozy and fully equipped; just bring coffee, tea, and spices. No TV means quality time together, with kids or a good book. Solid mobile signal makes remote work possible. Highly recommended ;)'

What can you do in Masuria? For starters, visit a live snail museum to pet snails (and maybe pick up a snail-based cream), swim across all the local lakes, work your arms kayaking, or lie flat and soak up an “Egyptian” tan. But summer adventures aren’t the only draw. Anyone who’s been bored in Masuria during winter has never been to Winiec. When snow falls, grab sleds, strap on skis, and hit Kurza Góra—the longest downhill run in northern Poland. After your workout, warm up in the sauna, relax in the tub, light a bonfire, cozy up by the fireplace, and breathe in that amazing Masurian air.
Slowhop says:
Three lakeside houses in Masuria with all the gear for water adventures. Hosts Kasia and Marcin have a custom guide to the area, so boredom is optional. You’re also just an hour from the sea!
'The cabins are nicely decorated, either new or very well maintained. Smart heating and a living room fireplace make it cozy even on chillier days. Coffee on the terrace in the hammock—that’s what tigers love most. Your stay includes a brick grill, kayaks, and mountain bikes—female and male models that were really new, so the rides were great. Usually bikes here are worn out, but this was a surprise. They even had two small bikes (16-inch wheels). What struck me was the silence, peace, and bird songs—no bright lights so the stars were stunning at night. Our cabin size was perfect for two adults and a child. And good Wi-Fi with Netflix—that’s something every city dweller appreciates; especially kids, okay adults too :) You can really unwind. You can tell the hosts put heart and great ideas into this place. It’s perfected down to every detail. The instructions were so detailed—I’d never seen that before. And it’s only 2.5h from Warsaw, close to the expressway—so after the drive, grill, have a drink, and chill until departure :)'

We were just dying to jump into this tub with a floor-level jacuzzi. Seeing these pictures today feels almost torturous without teleportation. Once again in Masuria at Siedlisko Rogówko: it started with the Baker’s House, complete with private pier and garden tub, a hit with guests. Then two more smaller, twin cabins were added, each with a covered dining terrace, a heated barrel with floor jacuzzi, and lake views. When the evening breeze sets in, you can lower the side blinds, switch on the heater, and enjoy the lake from a warm terrace. There’s also a treat for your taste buds—host Maćek bakes bread, so smile for sweets or a fresh, warm loaf.
Slowhop says:
Siedlisko Rogówko has three houses: one large family home and two holiday cabins for up to seven guests each. It’s best to book both cabins if you’re a group of friends since they’re close together. You cook for yourselves—there’s no restaurant nearby—and dogs are welcome. The lake is almost all yours; it’s small but swimmable.
'Fantastic place! A modern, clean cabin right on the lake. The hydro-massage tub is a hit—nothing relaxes like an open-air bubble bath, even in early November. I must also mention the excellent communication with the super-friendly host. All in all: definitely recommended!'

What you may not know about Masuria? For example, there’s a real pyramid in Rapa, and in the Republic of Ściborska you can learn dog sledding from the “Running Wolf.” Welcome to King Stanisław’s Manor. The thatched-roof cottages look like fairy-tale huts but accommodate adults too. Well-being here comes via a boat pool, a garden hot tub, and an alder-wood tub with a fountain that makes bubbles without a finger lifted.
Slowhop says:
The Malinowy Apartment is perfect for couples—you climb a ladder to the loft—but the manor also welcomes kids in other apartments. You’ll start with a welcome basket big enough for dinner and breakfast. In winter, bring your skis and head to Piękna Góra in Gołdap!

In Dosbajka, you can choose not only the chyža (though it’s the newest), but also the poolside cabins, the charming Ortesówka cottage, or even sleep under the stars. The Dosbajka settlement keeps growing but still has intimacy and charm. Whatever you pick, you get a hot tub, sauna, and jacuzzi with stunning views of the Magura Małastowska range, accompanied by a stream and framed by forest. You’ve probably seen this view if you’ve played Slowhop. In winter, hit SKI Park Magura or snowshoe on cross-country trails. In summer, stroll to see Lemko huts, roadside crosses, and chapels, then splash in the pool.
Slowhop says:
Darek built this cottage on the foundations of an old Lemko chyža that stood here before the war. Be sure to visit nearby spas in Wapienne and Wysowa. You may never need this tip, but they say Wysowa’s bottled “Franciszek” water is famous for easing hangovers. Come with up to six guests and bring your dog.
'Unforgettable experiences: a sauna with a chance to cool off in a mountain stream, a tub with a picturesque view—wonderful relaxation in the chyža by the fireplace and music. Dog-friendly, with room to run :) Very nice and helpful host. Highly recommend.'
