A one-hour drive from Wrocław

7 slow getaways near the capital of Lower Silesia

Do you also get the feeling that in Lower Silesia, you can just head in any direction and almost trip over something fascinating? If it’s not ancient ruins, it’s a palace. If not a palace, it’s an old mine, thermal springs, or mountain trails so tempting that your hiking boots practically walk out of the closet and wait by the door for the word 'hike.' No wonder the people of Wrocław – even though they love their city – regularly let themselves be tempted by little getaways into the unknown. But let's be honest, not everyone has that hardcore traveler's spirit that makes you pack at the crack of dawn and race across half the region. The more luggage you drag along, and the less sleep and coffee you have in your bloodstream, the more you appreciate short distances. That’s why, for those who want to relax before they get tired, we’ve handpicked 7 Slowhop stays within an hour’s drive from Wrocław. Tried and tested, unfussy, and packed with a great vibe. Are you getting in? Buckle up – let's hit the road.

Rooms in an elegant residence with breakfast included (and a pool!)

It feels quite luxurious here

If an English country house, a Provencal garden, and the Italian dolce vita had a mutual cousin in Lower Silesia, this would be it. It's an adults-only retreat where the quiet starts right at the gate and ends only when you head back to reality. Guests rave about the manicured garden where you can (intentionally) get lost with a book, the attic library and pool table, and breakfasts served personally by Ms. Kasia – famous for her warmth, care, and a tea that cures just about everything. And then there's the pool, the absolute cherry on top of all these conveniences. No kids, no TVs, no notifications – this is a zone where even your free radicals get to chill out. Aesthetes will easily satisfy their craving for beauty here, thanks to harmoniously designed interiors and details that many guests have actually image-searched, just to bring a piece of this 'quiet luxury' back to their own homes.

'A wonderful place. We are absolutely delighted – a beautiful pool, which is quite a rarity around here, and a gorgeous house decorated with incredible taste. The fantastic, fully-equipped kitchen is a great place to meet new people while preparing meals. Delicious breakfasts prepared personally by Ms. Kasia. Pure magic, an enchanted garden, and an oasis of peace. I felt like I was in Provence, Tuscany, or an English country house – exactly that kind of vibe :)'.

Just 40 km from Wrocław, surrounded by silence, Mount Ślęża, and French chandeliers, Kinga and Tomasz have created a place where you can feel like a lord of Lower Silesia. The palace has come a long way: from surviving a fire, hosting summer camp kids, and even serving as a grocery store, to its current status as a boutique residence with a soul, featuring interior accents sourced from Germany, France, Italy, and the Netherlands. With 12 rooms, traditional tiled stoves, a grand wooden staircase, and an atmosphere that belongs on the bucket list of every lover of history, interior design, and well-brewed tea served in fine porcelain. A pine log cabin with a sauna and hot tub included

Family trip – here we come!

The perfect place to disappear from the radar – literally. This wooden house for 12 stands nestled against a pine forest, where signal is definitely hard to find, but the air is rich in forest phytoncides and other health-boosting goodness. It’s an ideal spot for a trip with a crew or several families – perhaps a multi-generational getaway. After all, grandma and grandpa deserve a treat too! You can take your pick of activities: there’s a relaxation zone with a sauna and hot tub included in your stay, a guest library, hammocks, and swings, plus an awesome spot for group sausage roasting by the bonfire. The surrounding area is bursting with beautiful nature, so it’s worth packing up the gang after breakfast and heading out for birdwatching in the Barycz Valley, kayaking, or quiet strolls through the woods (and maybe some mushroom picking).

'A true oasis of peace :) The beautiful, quiet surroundings allow you to truly catch your breath and escape from daily life. The cabin is polished in every detail – it’s clear the owners have poured a lot of heart into this place. Everything was perfectly prepared, clean, and incredibly atmospheric. An ideal spot to relax with your loved ones. I definitely recommend it and would love to come back!'.

A kid-friendly guesthouse with a massive garden for play

This way to book your getaway

What you’ll find here is a unique blend: an old, pre-war German house – bought years ago by Ola and Maciek as their personal escape from civilization – and a new addition they built right onto it. This is a place where 'slow' isn’t just an adjective, it’s a state of mind. It’s the perfect spot for a family getaway, a reunion with friends, or a large crew of kindred spirits. The kids have so much space to run wild that parents can finally finish their coffee – while it’s still hot, and while sitting down! In the evenings, you can all gather around the bonfire or wander off into the garden and orchard to find your own charming little corner – whatever you’re in the mood for. According to guest reviews, the hosts are pure gold, and their home-cooked meals are available to order on-site. Definitely consider this place, especially if you’ve been planning a multi-family trip (it comfortably fits up to 19 people).

'We spent four fantastic nights here with a group of three families and small children, and we can sincerely recommend this place to anyone seeking peace, comfort, and a closeness to nature. The house is very spacious, excellently equipped, and perfectly suited for larger groups. Each family had their own private space, while the shared living and dining rooms were perfect for gathering together. Everything was clean and well-kept. A huge highlight is the grounds surrounding the house – a vast, green garden with plenty of room to play and unwind. The kids had space to run wild, and the adults could relax with a coffee or by an evening bonfire. Peace, quiet, and stunning views – the ideal conditions for relaxation. The owners are incredibly kind and helpful, and communication was smooth from start to finish. We recommend it with all our hearts – it’s a place with a soul where you can truly rest and enjoy quality time with your loved ones.'.

Attic apartment with breakfast included and 100 goats to pet

On my way to cuddle the goats!

Think of this as a true journey into 'experiential travel.' Your host, Asia, opens the doors to her goat farm and invites you into a simple, incredibly cozy attic apartment ideal for a couple or a family with children (up to 4 people). It’s no exaggeration to say this place is a local legend, a large part of Wrocław, Świdnica, and the surrounding areas source their artisanal cheeses from Asia (Kozłonoga), and we can personally guarantee their exceptional quality. If you love animals, nature, and home-cooked, chemical-free food, you’ll feel right at home here. Asia will share the secrets of goat farming, invite you for a shared breakfast, and encourage you to observe the lives of these fascinating animals. Start packing. This is a stay you’ll remember for a long time.

'We visited a magical place that’s hard to put into words – in Klecina, at Asia’s. Kozłonoga isn't just a farm, it’s a true sanctuary for the soul. Asia bakes her own bread, makes artisanal cheeses, and looks after a herd of over a hundred goats, along with horses, pups, and cats. But this isn't just any farm – it's a place built on passion, heart, and a deep love for animals. Every day there felt like a breath of fresh air away from the daily grind. Peace, quiet, birdsong, and the sounds of nature. Our daughter was overjoyed, running around with the dogs, cuddling the affectionate goats, and petting the cats – the smile never left her face. As for us, we truly rested. We slowed down. We found a moment to just be. And Asia… Asia has something special about her. You can feel it in the air - her love for animals and passion for cheesemaking. And her breakfasts… that’s a whole other story. Wonderfully simple, yet filled with flavour and warmth. Everything is local – homemade bread with a crunchy crust, creamy handcrafted cheeses, eggs from happy hens, and vegetables straight from the garden. A true poetry of flavours.'.

I’m officially charmed – booking my stay!

Grab the dates while they are available, because our Barwia is so in love with this place she wants to book it for a whole month! You can rent this beautiful, 150-square-meter space in a 19th-century villa as a whole or room by room. It’s a great choice for a group of friends or if you’re looking for a workshop space – you get an audiovisual room and an extra space for workshops. Pets stay at home, but kids are welcome. And the views from the windows are stunning: a great view of the Owl Mountains is included.

'A beautifully decorated and well-equipped place where you just want to spend time (they really brought out the beauty of all the historical details inside). Conditions for remote, intellectual, or creative work are 10/10. Thank you for a wonderful stay. A huge plus is the fantastic location for people traveling without a car –you can reach the town by train, as it’s connected to Świdnica and Wrocław.'.
