You already know that on Slowhop you’ll find accommodations selected according to the “slow” philosophy. But since we specialize in experience-based travel, we had an appetite for more. From our experience, pairing a stay with local cuisine lets you truly enjoy a slow, all-inclusive trip.
Guests at our stays say “I don’t just sleep anywhere,” and we say it’s worth also “not eating anything.” We recently took this seriously and created a Polish map of slow food spots, which keeps growing. We want to guide you straight from your hosts to trusted culinary destinations. Here you’ll find passionate owners of cozy eateries, wineries, bakeries, creameries and apiaries. Only vetted addresses tested by our stomachs or quietly recommended by hosts. You can find all the slow food locations here, and today we’re serving up Warmia and Masuria.
Head to places where they care about local produce, top-notch flavors, and environmental responsibility.
And remember — for all stays in the region, hop over here.
Want your restaurant, services or wedding venue on the Slow Neighborhood map? We’d love to see what you offer and feature you on Slowhop. Details here.

We heard about this spot from one of our hosts, and it stuck with us. It’s hard to forget a bistro in a village with the delightful name Zgon. Here, you might ‘die’ of delight—people say the food is killer. At beeKOS you’ll find homemade flavors, including Mazurian specialties with a modern twist. It’s like visiting a more laid-back grandma. Plus, you can wash it all down with signature lemonades and cocktails sweetened with honey from their own apiary. And when the weather’s good, you can dine in the orchard under apple trees or beneath a huge lime tree in the garden. beeKOS—why not.
Opening hours:
· autumn–winter: Fri–Sat: 13:00–20:00, Sun: 13:00–18:00
· summer: Mon–Tue: 13:00–18:00, Wed–Sun: 13:00–20:00

People say you can’t visit Warmia in summer without stopping by Niwa. A few members of our team—true foodies—confirm this. After summer, we swap stories about dining in the orchard and compare whose cider was best. Niwa started a few years ago as a project of Kwaśne Jabłko (“Sour Apple”), one of the first authentic agrotourism spots, and that alone is recommendation enough. As the hosts say: “Instead of fighting a natural urge for hedonism and an almost unnatural urge to host, we put them to good use in Niwa.” Their farm stay isn’t just lodging—products here come from their own farm (vegetables, fruits, eggs, poultry, buckwheat, honey, vinegars) and from local partners (dairy, cold-pressed oils, organic meats and fish). The golden rule here is “farm to table.” The menu blends Ewa and Marcin’s travel-inspired dishes with traditional meadow and field flavors.
Opening hours:
· summer: Thu–Sun: 12:00–19:00
· late spring/early autumn: Fri–Sun: 12:00–19:00

People once told Anna and Paweł, known as Patita Pavana D., it’s worth driving 500 km for this cuisine. Paweł has been a vegetarian for 33 years and is passionate about Indian culture, drawing inspiration from that region. He honed his skills working in an Indian restaurant in Soho, London. Remember the name: ATMA Agrotourism—this is where you’ll find real India in Warmia. These unexpected spots are gems on Slowhop’s culinary map: instead of a full restaurant, we suggest calling Paweł for a private feast. To arrange it, call a day in advance. If you’re passing by Orzechowo hungry, get in touch, and Paweł will do his best to cook something for you.

If you want to taste traditional Warmian cuisine, be sure to visit here. At Berta Inn, they serve kartacze (meat dumplings) from Grandma Janina’s Lithuanian recipe, potato pancakes with sour cream, and fresh cheese with regional bread. To drink? Elderflower or dandelion compote, kvass or bread soda. The restaurant is a family affair—everyone in the Kaczorowski family loves good food and history. The head chef, Wojtek, is famed for his chicken broth. To complete the Warmian experience, all these family recipes are served in a 200-year-old cottage in Reszel—a magical town with red tile roofs where time moves even slower than butter melting on kartacze at Berta.
Opening hours?
Open April to October daily from 9:00 to 18:00; November to March Fri–Sun 12:00–18:00.

Have you heard of the Brodnica Lake District? If not, discover its landscapes and flavors, including wine at Sztolcman Vineyard: an eco-friendly, sustainable project by Ania and Łukasz. As they say, winemaking isn’t just a passion—it’s their calling. Isn’t that reason enough? The owners live on site and will happily guide you through their scenic vineyard and end with a tasting of natural white, red and rosé wines paired with light snacks.

Our team’s girls visit Złotna Goat Farm for cuddles with baby goats, but there’s more to enjoy. You don’t have to be a goat cheese fan—though it’s top quality—to appreciate this place. The farm has a charming mini bistro serving pierogi, cold cheesecake, crepes with Oberlander cheese, or a delicious yeast cake from Aneta and Bożenka. If cheese is your true love, you’re in luck: book a tasting with a story behind each cheese. You can peek into the dairy to see how each specialty is made and learn what to pair them with.
Opening hours?
The bistro is open during the summer season from 9:00 to 14:00. Tastings and farm tours start at 11:00, Monday to Saturday.

Chleb Marka is a brand in its own right. Marek from Modry Ganek doesn’t cut corners: he makes only authentic, long-fermented bread from organic, freshly milled flours and grains, with no additives. You can order deliveries up to 20 km from Modry Ganek, for example to Gierzwałd, Pacółtowo, Pacółtówek, Mielno, Grunwald, Wysoka Wieś, Dąbrówno, Grabin and nearby towns, as well as Olsztynek and Ostróda.
